The Legend of Korra: Book Air, Chapter 11 & 12, Finale

The finale… after last episode, I swear I didn’t have the heart to watch this. This is not only because of what happened to Lin, but also because this is the goddamn finale! Korra isn’t just a show..

LOK: Book Air, Chapter 9 “Hey did you notice this…?”

There’s a character in Toph’s elite police force that looks oddly familiar…

Hello.. LONGSHOT.

That’s right, check it.

Nose and facial structure.

Bushy brows.

And I know about, mm, most of you are thinking, “But he’s not an earthbender and can’t metalbend. He can’t be a cop.”

Who’s to say that the earthbender/metalbender rule was always around? Or for that matter that only benders are allowed in the police force?

Spoilers from ATLA: The Promise Trilogy? Maybe. ;)

When Toph is arresting Yakone, her eyes are CLOSED.

Still has six fingers.

If you listen closely during the trial, you’ll notice that the lawyer and adult Toph both their share voice actress (the lovely Kate Higgins for those who didn’t know).

Asami

It’s funny, most of the people I know that are watching LOK aren’t quite fond of Asami. For most, I understand (especially if they’re Makorra shippers), but honestly people, THERE’S ONLY BEEN FOUR EPISODES! WE SHOULDN’T LET SHIP WARS START TO TEAR THE FANDOM APART SO EARLY! Bc

I honestly like Asami. I like her character design (let’s face it, everyone on LOK is fucking gorgeous and this girl is no exception!) and her background is interesting enough (she’s no ordinary rich girl, I’m positive that she can kick major ass if she is to become part of the Krew..). However, I do consider her to be a bit naive, as seen in particular scenes (i.e. when she hit Mako with her moped/scooter and offered him dinner when she could have easily bought his silence; the scene where Mako and Bolin look worried over Korra and Asami looks on with a placid smile on her face).

Before everyone starts with the “told you so” and etc., look at it from this perspective. Asami is a Republic City socialite, a group of people who aren’t always aware of how everyone else is dealing with the world. The fact that she had just met Korra also means that she won’t fret over her decisions and actions like her close circle of friends would.

It’s kind of funny though. All day, I’ve argued that Asami, currently one of my favorite characters, isn’t going to turn out evil, but when I got home I realized my grave mistake; the fact that I had been so smitten with Asami should have set off alarm after alarm in my head.

After all, whenever I am quite taken with a character this early in a series, they usually (as in 99.98% of the time) turn out evil.

..Oy vey.

…Okay one for the road.
